Point Blank was formed in 1974 in Texas and toured with ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynard, Marshall Tucker and other Southern rock bands for two years before releasing their self-titled debut album in 1976. Following the release of their second album, Second Season, they become one of the most booked, and consistent touring acts in Southern rock history. They would play over two-hundred concerts a year. They played with nearly every known Southern rock band and became close friends with many of them. They shared the same management with ZZ TOP and are still friends with them to this day. Before the release of their third album, Airplay, the bassist Phillip Petty quit and was replaced by Bill Randolph. The keyboardist Steve Hardin was brought in and they recorded his song, "Mean to Your Queenie", which the band plays at every concert. The Hard Way released in 1980 had a new keyboardist, Karl Berkebile and shortly after the vocalist John O'Daniel left the band and was replaced by Bubba Keith. Around 1981 their music took a turn into album oriented rock (AOR), which is an album format with greater commercial appeal, and Mike Hamilton became the new keyboardist. Their next album, American Exce$$, produced the hit song, "Nicole" which charted at #20 on Billboard Magazine's rock tracks chart and at #39 on Billboard's Hot 100. In 1982 their final album, On A Roll was released but internal turmoil would cause the band to break up in 1983.

In 2005 three of the original members, John O'Daniel, Rusty Burns and Phillip Petty reunited for a benefit concert with David Crockett on drums, Mouse Mayes on guitar and Larry Telford on keyboards. The concert was recorded and released as, "Reloaded", and then they started touring until in 2009, Point Blank released a new studio album, "Fight On!". Point Blank is still together today and recently released another studio album, "Volume 9".


The bands second bass player, Bill Randolph, died in 2001 from a heart attack. In 2010 the bands orignal bassist Phillip Petty died from cancer then the guitarist Kim Davis passed on. Michael Hamilton, who played keyboards, succumbed to cancer in 2011.

THE VIETNAM VETERANS
 A few words.
The Vietnam Veterans is a French psychedelic band, hailing originally from Chalon-sur-Saône, a commune in eastern France.
They released six full-length albums during the 1980s, starting in 1983. The band was praised by many alternative music publications, including Bucketfull of Brains during the 1980s.
After a 21-year-long pause, they are now active again.  VERY GOOD.

TEN  WHEEL  DRIVE    -   CONSTRUCTION  No 1     1969.
Ten Wheel Drive was a highly influential rock/jazz group not afraid to push the envelope while exploring various musical styles. Though musicians came and went, including the original lead vocalist, by the time the fourth album was released, the records have stood the test of time, influencing the successful Bette Midler breakthrough film The Rose, inspiring women with the drive and ambition to front their own group in a once male-dominated industry, getting sold on online auction sites to be discovered by new generations of music lovers. The original lead vocalist and founding member,Genya Ravan, spoke with AMG concerning how she formed the band: "I went to see Billy Fields, he was going to manage me. He had a friend in New Jersey that befriended two guys that were writers and they were looking for someone to sing their songs. Billy asked me if I wanted to hear them, I said 'OK' since I was always looking for material, so I met with Mike Zager and Aram Schefrin at a dinky little piano studio in Times Square. They played "Polar Bear Rug" and "I Am a Want Ad" and got me interested even though I thought they sounded more like show tunes, I was also an actress, so I liked it.

From Boston, this was a heavy psychedelic outfit with free jazz influences. Except for the classic blues track Sweet Little Angel, all the songs on their album were penned by the group and sung in a very rasping voice by Jere Whiting.

At the age of 15 he setup his first band "the McCoys"and at 18 he was opening shows for Beach Boys,Four Seasons and backing giants like Chuck Berry.
At that time  (still 18 ) he wrote"Hang on sloopy" a smash around the world which knocked out of the top spot 'Yesterday"by the Beatles.
He joined and was the producer for J.Winter's album "J. Winter and...."with another name.. and also wrote a few tracks like the hit" Rock & Roll Hootchie Koo.
He played and produced Edgar Winter's album"they only come out at night" 1973 No1 in US, then the gold "Roadwork" and then, Still alive & well.
In 1976 created the Derringer band.He released 4 albums and in 1983 returned to his solo career.
During 70's and 80's he appeared on three albums of  Alice  Cooper,Richie Havens,Todd  Rundgreen and Steely Dan.
Edgar Winter and Rick in 1990 performed  "Live in Japan"and Winter's blues".
Rick during 2001 was busy again with D-B-A,ex Vanilla Fudge Tim Bogert,Carmine Appice.After that he and his wife worked on a few Christian cd's.
Rick is Among the Greatest  guitarists.

 KROKODIL
     Bio :
Krokodil was a Swiss band that emerged in the late 60's as a blues-rock band that put progressive touches into their music. They were of German-Swiss extraction with bassist and guitarist Terry Stevens being the only foreigner in the band, coming form England. They were regarded as the Swiss version of the Groundhogs due to their first album. However, from their 2nd album Swamp they started to introduce a psychedelic sound to their music, a sound which is very much dominant on Invisible World Revealed. In that album they make use of mellotron, organ, harmonica and flute all backed up by an acoustic guitar which give the album an exotic and stoned feeling to it. The eastern and Indian influences in this album are present through the sitar and tabla in the 15 minutes suite Odyssey In Om. The blues here gives way to the psychedelics, ethnic sounds and vocal harmonies, but it is still there. Getting up For The Morning continues the same style (in a new label, Bacillus) but they became more succinct in their approach to composition and it was more of a song oriented album than its predecessor.
A band not to be missed by anyone who likes blues, psychedelic and ethnic in his music and does not mind them being mingled together. Even though they are tough to find, their 3rd album is very much worth the bother.
